Sydney, 16 August 2010 – Located at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (Consulate General) in Sydney, Australia, Handover Position (Sertijab) had been carried out on August 16, 2010 from Acting Consul, Indonesian Consulate General in Sydney (Mr. Siuaji Raja, Counsellor / Consul Economic Affairs) to the new Director of ITPC (Mr. Mohamad Hidayat).

Signatory of Sertijab was conducted by Mr. Siuaji Raja (as the First Party) and Mr. Mohamad Hidayat (as the Second Party) in the presence of Witnesses I: The Consul Educational, Social and Cultural Affairs, Indonesian Consulate General in Sydney (Mr. Kiki Tjahjo Kusprabowo) and Witness II: the new Deputy Director of ITPC Sydney (Mr. Reza Pahlevi Chairul ).

 


In his speech, Mr. Raja conveys the performance of duties and functions of the ITPC is to increase exports of non oil goods and services Indonesia to Australia. One of the suggestions that need to be followed is the promotion of products using the technology "Touch Screen" by incorporating all elements of Indonesian culture and tourism promotion. ITPC must always renew the "Trade Promotion Materials" to be distributed to Australian businessmen. Improved working relationships and networks with all parties involved need to be further improved.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hidayat in his speech agreed with the things that have been raised by Mr. Raja and specifically mentions the need for consolidation internally and externally by involving all parties namely from the government sectors (such as all of Indonesian Goverment Representatives in Australia, Trade Attaché, Indonesian Embassy in Canberra, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia) and from the private sectors (such as Australia Indonesia Business Council, Chamber of Commerce, Association, Import, Wholesaler, Distributors) need to be nurtured and enhanced continually.
Furthermore, the new Director of ITPC Sydney said that the things that are already running will be continued and enhanced where this would require assistance, encouragement and input from all parties involved including the Indonesian Consulate in Sydney.


Mr. Hidayat then highlighted that some basic tasks and functions of ITPC are to perform: (i) Market Penetration, (ii) Market Information Service, (iii) Export Promotion, (iv) Services to World Business, (v) Implementation of Business Intelligence and (vi) Observations on the trade policies and important issues related to trade in Australia.


ITPC will definitely act as: Lobbyist (Negotiating), Opportunity Seeker (Promoting), Intelligent Analyst (Reporting) and Image Builder (Representing) as directed by the Indonesian President in the Working Meeting of Indonesian Chief Representative in 2010. ITPC will actively take part in conducting the Total Economic Diplomacy towards the Indonesian Incorporated.


Disseminating information to improve the image of Indonesian products in Australia will be continued by ITPC Sydney in an effort to convince the financial institutions, investors, entrepreneurs in Australia by stating that the condition in Indonesia is safe and stable in which the presence of law enforcement is fair and transparent and also posses the economic prospects for short and long term (note: Indonesia is one of the countries that experienced positive economic growth during the economic crisis in 2009).

A first step that will be immediately made by ITPC is to promote the 25th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI 2010) that is to be held on 13 - October 17, 2010 at Jakarta International Expo in Indonesia. ITPC, Consulate and the Indonesian Investment Promotion Center (IIPC) will soon conduct the Business Gathering/Forums including promotion of TEI in Australia.
