Indonesia’s Participation in the International Trade Exhibitions in Australia

Sydney, 11 February 2011 - ITPC Sydney accompanied by Economic Consul of Indonesia Consulate in Sydney has received a visit from Mrs. Julie Holt, International Business Development Manager, Australian Exhibitions & Conferences Pty Ltd. The purpose of the visit is to discuss the participation of Indonesia in following international trade fairs to be held in Australia in 2011.

On this occasion, Mrs. Holt submitted a calendar of international trade exhibitions to be held in 2011 (attached) and look forward to working both with Indonesian Consulate and ITPC in some activities of trade shows in Australia. According to her, there are 3 (three) international trade exhibitions in Australia in 2011 that are important to be participated by Indonesia, namely:

This is an exhibition of interior decoration which includes a variety of products. This exhibition should be followed by Indonesia, which has a variety of handicraft and furnishing products.

AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL SOURCING FAIR

(Textiles, leather, footwear, handbags, small leather items, home wares, handicrafts)

The Australian International Sourcing Fair will be held this year in Sydney and the organizer AEC predicts that there will be increasing the number of participants mainly from Bangladesh, India and Pakistan. ITPC Sydney has participated in this exhibition in 2010 in which there is a substantial trial subscription order of Indonesian products from Australian importers.

INTERNATIONAL FURNITURE FAIR

(Furniture)

1 – 3 February 2011, SYDNEY - www.aiff.net.au

International Furniture Fair is the only furniture exhibition that opened to international exhibitors in Australia. Thus, the exhibition is very well attended by the Indonesian furniture companies interested to market and looking for distribution channels of furniture products into Australia. This year, the exhibition had been held on 2-4 February 2011. For the year 2012, the exhibition is scheduled to be held on December 1 to 3 February 2012 in the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

ITPC and Indonesian Consulate in Sydney welcomed information activities of international trade exhibitions to be held in 2011 by the AEC. In this regard, Indonesian Economic Consul requested assistance to AEC in promoting Indonesian products in international trade exhibitions in Australia. In particular, ITPC Sydney is also the view that Indonesia's participation in international trade exhibitions in Australia needs to be enhanced in the future.

In addition, ITPC Sydney also offered cooperation to AEC particularly in providing information on market surveys, including trends, market characteristics and consumer tastes in Australia; data importer / agent / distributor, as well as help to promote Indonesian products through distribution of brochures and websites.
