Efforts to Increase Cooperation On Industrial Agricultural (Palm Sugar) and Livestock (Buffalo) Sydney, 11 Februari 2011 - ITPC Sydney accompanied by Economic Consul of Indonesian Consulate in Sydney has received a visit from an Australian businessman named Mr. Nicholas Loudon. The purpose of the visit is for business cooperation in the field of agriculture and livestock. Mr. Loudon is intended intend to import sugar palm seed from Indonesia in which it seeds can further be embedded, processed and harvested in Australia. The main idea is for the development of Indonesian sugar palm industry in Australia. In this regard, the added value offered is to bring some workers from Indonesia for the development of palm sugar industry in Australia. Another cooperation offered is to offer a sale of cattle (buffalo) to Indonesia. According to him, the animal can be bred and farmed in Indonesia in order to be processed as domestic consumption and for export to the use of meat, skin and milk. sdsfsdf ITPC expressed gratitude for such cooperation and it is certainly something valuable to enhance trade relations between Indonesia and Australia. ITPC conveyed that in order to provide more added values and as part of mutual benefit, it is worth to be considered that Mr. Loudon should try to invest to build a sugar palm industry in Indonesia first, and if successful, within 5 to 10 years, the industry can be relocated to Australia. Surely this will benefit not only to Indonesia (as an effort to increase investment in open employment), but also for harvesting sugar palm to Australia. The same thing can be done to another cooperation of a sale of cattle to Indonesia. Economic Consul of Indonesian Consulate General in Sydney said that other matters such as regulations related to importing and exporting of sugar palm seed from Indonesia to Australia need to be explored. Additionally, legislation granting permission to work also needs to be verified further from the Australian government. As representatives of the Government of Indonesia in Australia, Indonesian Consulate and ITPC Sydney will certainly support and facilitate such collaborative efforts. In response, Mr. Loudon will make a concrete proposal that will be followed up by Indonesian Consulate and ITPC Sydney.
